The Bath Chronicle
Former Somerset captain Ian Blackwell believes his old club will struggle to win a County Championship title because of the pitches at Taunton. Blackwell always struggled at the County Ground but grabbed 5-7 for Durham when they bowled Somerset out for 174 in their Division 1 clash at the Riverside on Tuesday.
TIMSBURY An emphatic eight-wicket victory on the final day at Shirehampton could not save the 1st XI from relegation from the Bristol & North Somerset Division. Neil Hucker recorded amazing figures of 4-11 from 13 overs, including nine maidens and a spell of 38 balls without conceding a run, as Shirehampton were restricted to 92-8 from 45 overs.

Exactly 70 years ago today at 11.15am Neville Chamberlain's voice was heard on the radio announcing that Britain was at war with Germany. He said the British ambassador to Berlin had handed a final note to the German government that morning saying unless it announced plans to withdraw from Poland by 11am a state of war would exist between the two countries.
Our trip was organised by Innovation Norway (www.visitnorway.co.uk) and concentrated on the Fjord area and Bergen (see www.fjordnorway.com and www.visitbergen.com). The hotels we stayed in were (as mentioned in 'day one' above) The Rica Hotel Maritime, Haugesund (www.hotelmaritime.no), the Hotel Ullensvang on day two (www.hotel-ullensvang.no), the Stalheim Hotel (pictured top right) on day three (www.visitvoss.no) and the Clarion Hotel Havnekontoret in Bergen on day four (ww.choicehotels.no).
This may be something of an admission of my lack of journalistic skill but I have to tell you straight away that I'm going to find it very difficult to do justice to the wonderful country of Norway in this one article. If I was to tell you that Fjord Norway is breathtaking, awe- inspiring and unforgettable you may well feel they are just old cliched words but the truth is they perfectly fit the bill for describing this magical part of the world just across the North Sea.
