Claverton Manor - American Museum in Britain Claverton Manor was designed for John Vivian by Sir Jeffry Wyatville, architect to George IV. Constructed of Bath stone, the building was begun in 1820 to replace the old Jacobean manor in Claverton village. The neo- classical house has Ionic pilasters and a pediment on the south facade, and two semi-circular projecting bays on the east side.
Vivian's son George added the screen wall between the drive and the gardens, and the picture gallery in 1828.See the full content of this document
