Residents in Corsham and other North Wiltshire towns are the envy of other taxpayers after the district council agreed a tax rise of just 1.6 per cent.

The below-inflation increase means a family with an average Band D property will be paying the district council pounds129.93 from April 1, an increase of just pounds2.05.
