Distance: 7 miles Time: 3 hours Start: in Dyrham's main street just below a small green (GR 739757) Maps: OS Landranger 172 or OS Explorer 155 Terrain: a gently undulating landscape away from the Cotswold escarpment Contact: vilewalks@yahoo.co.uk pr the vilewalks facebook group Getting there: Follow the A46 north from Bath for six miles before turning left into the village of Dyrham. Drive downhill into the village and, just past a junction by a small green, park in main street.

1. Walk back up to the junction, turn left and follow the road around past the rear of Dyrham House and the village church to a track - the Cotswold Way - on the right by a cottage. Turn right and follow this track to a gateway, before following the right edges of four fields that border Dyrham Park to a gate in the corner of the fourth field and a lane. Follow this lane to the left along to a road junction before following a footpath opposite - slightly to the left - across the left edges of two fields. Beyond a gap in the hedge at the far side of the second field, turn right and follow a path alongside woodland up to the top corner of the field. Bear left along the top field boundary for 40 yards before bearing right through the woodland to reach a road leading into a picnic area. Follow this road along to the A46, cross using the crossing point and follow the opposite side of the road to the left for 15 yards before turning right along a track.
