Summary
Do we have to wait until an elderly person collapses at a bus stop waiting for a No 6 or 7 bus home before something is done? We heard this week from a very distraught elderly lady who had waited 50 minutes for a bus to take her home to Fairfield Park from the city centre in the mid afternoon - not exactly a busy time. She had arrived in time to catch the No 6 bus due at 3.20, but it never even turned up. She was prepared to take to No 7 at 3.40 and go the long way round, but that bus just sailed past, presumably full as it had standing passengers. The next No 6 due at 4pm finally arrived 10 minutes late by which time she was feeling fairly desperate as she also has a heart condition and there had been nowhere for here to sit down while she waited.
When can we expect the council and First Bus to improve the bus service to Fairfield Park and Larkhall? The residents have waited long enough.See the full content of this document
