Former English Schools' champion Joe Hutchinson opened his 2009 campaign with a resounding victory at the South West Indoor Championships.

Competing indoors for the first time this winter, the 16-year- old TeamBath AC athlete won the under-17 men's 60m hurdles in a personal best time of 8.82secs at Cardiff, hosting the event for the first time as part of the UWIC Grand Prix.
