Last Saturday, we featured a photograph of a match between Bath City and Arsenal at Twerton Park in 1959 which the home side won 4- 3, but the original article failed to mention why it took place.

"I believe that I can help to fill in the detail about the match," writes Bath resident Peter Barrett. "I was five years old at the time, but my father, Bill Barrett, now aged 82, went to see the match. He was an East End boy from Hackney, and Arsenal was his team. The match was part of the transfer deal for Alan Skirton, to bring in more income for Bath.
