Summary

Many rugby pundits expected Bath Rugby to be pushing hard at the top of the Guinness Premiership this season. After the upheavals of the summer and key injuries that was always optimistic.

However, what has transpired has been much worse than might have been feared, but each defeat or scrambled draw is met with a response that there is improvement. In the game against London Irish, Bath's performance could only be, reluctantly, described as abject; there was no improvement.
