Summary
Richard's grandfather came to Bath as a GP in 1901 from Barts and became the Church of England warden of St Michael's Church for 53 years until his death in 1954.
He practised in Great Pulteney Street as a GP and surgeon. He set up, along with Lord and Lady Temple, the field hospital for the First World War troops coming home from the front in what was Newton Park College (now Bath Spa University) for which he received an OBE from the King. Richard's father (his son) lived in Bath all his life and post-war at Combe Down and had a furniture removals and coach business after the war till the 1970s. He was in the RAF and served all over but latterly at Colerne on the Merlin Engines (Mosquitos, Spitfires and Lancasters).See the full content of this document
