Summary

EASTENDERS Archie's arrival in the Square should probably have been a cue for another one of Peggy's impromptu trips to Aunt Sal's. Instead she ends up meeting her manipulative ex at Fargo's, where it becomes clear she isn't entirely over him. However, Phil's feelings are anything but mixed when he arrives home to find Archie is back in Walford, and takes it upon himself to scare his stepfather off. Elsewhere, the tension between Syed and Christian reaches boiling point as they end up fighting at Masala Unit. Once they've calmed down, the pair actually start to bond, but any hopes Christian might have had about bringing their relationship out into the open are dashed when Syed makes a surprise announcement. EMMERDALE Bob doesn't have the best track record when it comes to facing up to reality, so it's no big surprise that he can't bring himself to visit Viv this week in case she tells him their relationship is over. Instead, he decides to get on with his life -- and proves he means business by sleeping with Gennie. The next morning, Bob is full of remorse and decides to visit the prison after all, if only to tell Viv what happened. However, before he can come clean, his wife makes a surprise return to the village after being freed.

Unfortunately, she doesn't get the warmest welcome as Brenda mistakes her for a thief. Debbie gains an admirer, but is soon distracted from her love life when Diane allows a fragile Andy to look after Sarah unsupervised. Jimmy recruits Laurel to be Nicola's substitute birth partner, and Turner struggles to keep up with his friend Eddy. Val discovers the true extent of Pollard's financial problems, Mark dreads running the shop in Natasha's absence and new family the Bartons move into Emmerdale.
