While the Main House is closed over July and August the theatre will be mounting a season in the Ustinov specifically designed to appeal to regular Main House audience members.

The Theatre Royal has specially commissioned an adaptation of The Good Soldier, Ford Madox Ford's heartbreaking novel about the disintegration of two marriages, by Julian Mitchell - whose award- winning plays include Another Country. The second play will be Eugene Ionesco's extraordinary comedy, The Chairs about an elderly couple frantically preparing chairs for the arrival of an audience to hear the old man's message to the world.
