Reading the Chronicle's recent article on traffic supremo Councillor Charles Gerrish and the development control committee chairman, Councillor Les Kew, I was reminded, having attended all three Bath Transportation Package meetings, of whether I thought Mr Kew was a good chairman or not.

I wondered at his remark: 'I think we went through the right process and we came to a decision' because in my experience sometimes someone who says 'I think' instead of 'we went through', means they do have doubts just as when someone goes to the trouble of saying they have a clear conscience - this can sometimes indicate they haven't!
